  • I joined NCUFF to help improve the working conditions for permanent, non-tenure track faculty. As a result of NCUFF bargaining, we now have an established path for promotion.

  • NCUFF-UFF is playing a vital role in these dark political days. Without the union, we would have lost tenure during the last open book negotiations. We do not have certain freedoms with tenure, imagine what it will be without. Without tenure we would lose our ability to attract some of the best national faculty. Without tenure the pay structure will be skewed in favor of those who are politically aligned. The union has done a remarkable job negotiating various standards including tenure and post-tenure reviews. Congrats to the union!

  • Year after year, the administration preferred to pay bonuses based on carry-forward (leftover) money rather than plan for base salary increases for faculty. However, it was the persistent efforts of our bargaining team, their thorough analysis of the budget, and their ability to demonstrate the sustainability of NCUFF’s proposal that ultimately resulted in both salary increases and bonuses. The reason employees can send their children to New College for free or participate in the Tuition Exchange program is because NCUFF proposed this benefit and successfully showed its value to New College. It's important to note that while we initially proposed this for our unit, NCF recognized its value and extended it to all employees. Through our support of the union, we not only secure benefits for ourselves and our families, but also improve the quality of life for other NCF employees.
